Wrist Ache?

Discussion in 'Hypermotard' started by Multirider75, Sep 10, 2023.

  1. I’ve noticed my wrists ache after each ride on the Hyper. Has anyone else experienced this/ got any tips to resolve? I’ve had loads of bikes, never had this before, so I’m sure there should be a relatively easy fix.

  2. Stop with the wheelies.:D

  3. Use your thighs to hold on :D

  4. Both wrists? Has this happened on any other bike? Maybe worth trying to change the angle of your arms a bit to relieve pressure from wrist angle...

  5. Err... age? :D

  6. ^^ yeah, this I’m afraid… it is with me anyway  My fingers and wrists still haven’t recovered from an off a couple of months back. It’s shit getting old, pah!!

  7. I reckon it's simply the fact that the bike is new to you and your wrists are just getting used to a slightly new position.
I wouldn't worry about it - they'll be OK after a few more rides.

  9. That’s what I’m hoping. Will see how I fare after next weekend, as I’m taking it to Cornwall for a few days

  10. I used to get same on my benelli tre-k. I think it was the angle the grips were at. I must have got used to it I guess because it eventually stopped hurting.

  11. Im going to see how the angle of the levers compares to my other bikes. Maybe some minor adjustments may help.

  12. Lever position and span adjustment too.

Riding position on the Hyper us very different to most bikes as you sit right over the front wheel and bars.

  14. Stop gripping & rest hands on the steering; fit grip-buddies & wrist rest. I get it from riding different bikes with various frequencies of vibrations just relax more & feel rather than hold.

  15. And I only suggested age cus I now often get wrist, & forearm, ache after the commute on the V-Raptor.

The same commute on the same bike that I've done for the past 5 years or so.

  16. Have you adjusted the controls to fit you? Every time I've picked up a "new" bike I have the impression that the "fit" to me has been miles off

  17. Don't forget, if you need to adjust the mirrors you need to go to a dealer.

  18. I always keep a relatively loose grip, have done for years.

  19. On reality?

  20. For me the most important thing is to have the levers at an angle where the tips of your fingers are a straight line with your forearms and as far as possible the palm of your hand aligned with your forearm (i,e. not displaced outward) - the shape of the bars rather determines this though.
