As friendly internationals go (even with Southgate’s England involved) it should be quite a lively affair shouldn't it? As a thoroughly embarrassed Englishman right now and a life king kenneth mathieson dalglish fan I will be hoping the blue and whites come out victorious. They can boogie etc…
I was a Kenny Dalglish fan too but being an Englishman I want England to win but if the Jocks should win at home it won’t be the end of the world.
i'll be watching. mostly because i can. our National team games aren't shown on cooncil TV but England's team is, therefore i can watch the game. the national side has been doing particularly well of late and are in for shout. there you go, i've just jinxed it.
I’m in Glasgow on business tonight My hotel room cost an extra £100 because the effing footy’s on 20 minutes away
our National teams games are not screened free on tv. not part of the crown jewels of sport thing. it's pay per per view.
Jesus i thought no live 3pm games down here was bad enough, thats shocking. You missed god save the king getting drowned out and upsetting the gammonati too.
i didnt miss it, england was playing so it was on C4. had it been Scotland V's any other non UK based team it would of been pay per view. i missed kickoff but the politicisation of the booing started straight after by the usual sources. you cant do jackshit without the Gammonati and press turning it into something else. being more of a rugby kinda guy and never watching football (for the reasons already stated) it was an interesting watch.
Here you go, it does happen but nothing to blow a blood vessel over. https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/so...-the-king-before-glasgow-friendly/ar-AA1gE7ub
growing up on the west side of the central belt, it's one of the things i dont like about football. the crowds. the Rangers Celtic, protestant and catholic thing, the north and south thing. and going decades back before you know who came onto the scene. who the usual suspects have been doing the usual linking them to, thing. i wont say much more on the subject on this thread, there are others more appropriate.
Well, despite all the bragging before the game, Scotland were comprehensively beaten. They have a long way to go if they can’t beat England at home, who have room for improvement themselves. I could be wrong but think all of England’s football games are on the free to air channels. Recently I watched Hibs v Villa live on BBC Scotland, via my Sky box, but free in Scotland. Clearly the SNPs rules are different.
sigh. i guess someone was gonna go there. god, with reporting like that know wonder the "UK" is the way it is. the National teams games unless they are playing england are not shown on BBC1,2 STV, ITV or Channel 4. football has got jackshit to do with the SNP. tho they did go further than any other in an attempt to stop the sectarian shit around it. and neither has broadcasting for that matter. that's a reserved power. the "crown jewels" of sporting events are chosen there. the decision to go pay for view was chosen by the SFA. Bragging? chortle. football fans up here will know Steve Clark. nuff said. and who knew that the SGov was responsible for liverpool fans booing down the national anthem. on coronation day of all things. not to mention the countless other times it's happened. like i said, i tend not to get overly interested in football. too many mongs..
Maybe I should have typed ScoGov instead of SNP, it wasn’t a political snipe. My surprise was that in Scotland Sco v Eng was pay per view, whilst Hibs V Villa was free. The complete opposite in England where I could only watch the Villa game in England by watching on a Satellite box which includes all the regional BBC channels. We watch BBC NI for the road racing in the same way.
There was a time the BBC were paying more for Lineker than they were to broadcast Scottish league games. is licence fee more if you live in England? otherwise, well played England. Some terrific talent in the English team
