Welsh govt are doing everything they can to destroy any Welsh economy that’s left alongside any joy of living there.
I’m considering stopping riding in Wales because it’s just getting ridiculous, I spend all my time looking for cameras or rozzers. Unfortunately this will happen everywhere very soon because they don’t want the plebs driving.
I’ve pretty much planned my next move, last one, being on a move to the Welsh coast somewhere. We holiday. I day trip there. I’ve told the missus tonight I won’t be going back. I can’t drive at 20 unless I’m traffic. I find it impossible, and dangerous as I spend 60% of my time looking at my speedo rather than the road and other users. Sure it won’t worry the knobs in the Welsh govt, but there you go. I’ll be taking my spending, my pension and my business elsewhere.
Not every 30 has become a 20, the parts of Fishguard that have then you struggle to do 20 anyway because of the traffic, the bits where the traffic flows have stayed 30, the 20 isn't enforced in the main anyway, in Pembrokeshire there are 8 camera sites in the 20 zones in the whole county, and they were probably there already and were 20 zones already because of schools etc ( which I don't think most would mind - 20 past schools).
Whilst I understand the sentiment it's just a waste of their taxpayers money...it won't change the government's decision, that's what the pilot was for
If only the world was as sensible. Cameras where real threat exists (school gates, dodgy junctions) and variable limits in towns. 20 at 3am isn’t the same as 20 at 3pm passing a school
Agreed that's why most schools had a 20 restriction at peak school times, that said you couldn't do 20 anyway because of all the mum's parked up in their Chelsea tractors picking up their ( overweight cos they don't walk Anywhere) little darlings
Most 30mph zones around here are residential, so lowering to 20mph is fine with me. However, signage don't mean . The 30mph limits are mostly ignored.
Futures bland (I've said it before). Those of us in our fifties have had the best times..... Great bikes, no rozzers, no cameras and no traffic..... That were the 90's It's over now, the do gooders have won the day (they were always gonna win through). Just for your info (and not Wales) average speed cameras going up on the hawes road by 2025..... Yorkshire dales money cow.
I was talking to a youngling the other day, I feel blessed to have experienced the 80s and 90s. The before time.
Wales has no money for youth services and local initiatives that help local economies but millions for signs very few want and even less will apply. Until the busybody tossers are given speed cameras in every town. We really have become a country of informants and stazi
Will be interesting to see a: the stats on accident reduction B. The number of prosecutions in the 20 zones ( suspect very few as they are hard to police
Pointless as it will be falsified and they will choose which bits of the data are useful to them and ignore the rest just like that vile lunatic in charge of London did.
You do realise this 20mph nonsense will apply to cyclists? I remember us having a tt stopped by plod for exceeding 30mph…
