Todays ride was dry, sunny at times. Lunch at The Forge nr Hayle, always excellent. Second highest elevation gain of my Strava career
A couple from the last month in the sun. Unexpectedly got to see two stages of La Vuelta (thank you air traffic control shenanigans).....Back in the UK now in the pissing rain wishing I wasn't.
LEBUD Day 2 52 miles, 3,665 ft climbed, the highlight was fish and chips at Rick Steins, the trails after Padstow.
Last day of this trip. All of our routes on Strava seem to be under on both distance and elevation gain, which can lead to disappointment and frustration. The penultimate climb today was 30%, which didn’t even register on Strava. It’s part of NCN 3 so you would expect Sustrans and Strava between them could get it right. 27.85 miles, 2,533 ft elevation gained. Niggles aside it’s been three fantastic days in the saddle.
Strava does suffer from 'GPS shift' which does sometimes miss segments out from your ride. Bit annoying when you've blown your load up your favorite climb and an attempt to beat your PB.
If you want blow up the Stravaisti, do what my mate did when we went green laning and use it to record your route. So many of KotM cried that day his segments were removed, some people eh.
I had a chat with a very nice old boy yesterday riding one of these. He was well into his 70s, wasn't hanging about either! Stunning old bike. Might not be the exact model.
know a bloke with several, had one or two nicked straight after he'd had some work done on his garage. Not sure if the same on all but a "lightening" feature involving holes around the bottom brkt not well thought out with rain etc in mind.
still worry about whether this or satnav or iphone tracking might get accepted one day as legal evidence for speeds recorded. (non-bicycle comment).
