748 748 Sp Project

Discussion in '748 / 916 / 996 / 998' started by cookster, Sep 24, 2023.

  1. Hi guys, I picked this 748sp up few weeks ago with the intention of turning it into a classic track day bike but on closer inspection its far to nice for that, so it got me thinking about my 996 project I did few years back and thought I'd do the same to this 748.

The 748 is a 97 sp which I belive to be quite rare and as you can see it's had the frame painted black as have the wheels. So I'm thinking about putting them and the swing arm back to original colours. It's not going to be one for the purists as I still want to use it and track day it if I so wish. So il up grade alot of the plastic to carbon eventually. Big thing is going to be the engine, as with the 996 il get it blue printed, ported heads, balanced crank and new parts thoughout .

Should be a good project for the winter...

  5. Yeah that was a good one mate, in hind sight I should have kept all the bits to put on this one as I'm buying them all again :joy::joy:

  6. And tbh there nothing wrong with the black but its niggling at me that it should be gold

  8. I’ve always thought yellow and black looks better than yellow and gold ;)

You may as well of left it where you collected it for the work :joy::joy::joy:

  11. If it's the same high standard as the previous job then it'll look tasty.

    P.S you'll just need a matching trackstand.;)
