Lovely run out to the Sussex Triumph Owners Classic bike show. Saw some great bikes including Norton, Moto Guzzi, Lambretta and Vespa, Harley, Enfield and, of course, Triumph. Mine was the only Ducati I saw! Fifty mile round trip and the bike felt smooth as butter and all in glorious sunshine! Lovely day out.
Gave the GasGas a wash, leaking oil from filler cap which isn’t unusual for this engine annoying non the less.
Took the new to me 996 out for a three hour run from Newcastle to Harrogate...over the North Yorkshire moors..! Spectacular...what a bike, what a road.. So very different to the 900s and 999 that I've experienced. It could be love all over again.. Seriously though, not felt that level of "connection" on a bike in a long while!
I have a life at the weekends. Just on the treadmill of shitty life in the week, cleaning the bike is a worthwhile distraction tbh.
It was! I'm not embarrassed to say at one point I started crying in my helmet...stunning countryside, stunning bike...such a hard last couple of years.. it was poetry...
Made it live again! Got my 750ss running, it sounds gorgeous! Still needs a few jobs doing but aiming for the spring now anyway.
Gathered and boxed up all the extra and OEM parts that came with the Bayliss as I've sold it and bought Andy's Speciale from Moto Rapido. Hadn't realised just how many extra parts came with the Bayliss (all the dual seat stuff plus "normal" screen) until I gathered them all up. Add in the standard rear sets, tail-tidy, levers, bar ends ... I'm going to miss the Bayliss but SWMBO wouldn't let me have both :-(
Had a set of Dunlop Mutants levered onto my spare Mutley V4 wheels ready for the wet weather. These must have a stiff carcase as the good chap doing the work was putting in the effort to get the bead over the rim, nice job well done. Don't think I'd want to contemplate getting these on with a non hydraulic tyre changer stand. Will go back to my summer tyres when I have a new TT rear to go on next summer on my other rims (a front 19" TT probably last 2.5 rears at this summers rear/front wear rates). Update took advantage of the sunshine so swapped the mutant shod wheels on
Replaced the 2 body panels I nicked off my track Multistrada to repair the damage to my road Multistrada. Had to recover the damaged panels from the bin because I forgot to salvage the fixings All good now though Andy
