Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak is now officially ordered (and acknowledged by Ducati) with a delivery date in May ‘24. From the Accessories catalogue I’ve specified, the Touring Pack (heated grips, centre stand and plastic panniers), the Urban Pack (tank bag, plastic top box, power extension lead and USB hub), engine cover bars, engine guard plate, aluminium hand guards, 2 piece radiator guard, oil cooler protective mesh and a liner bag set for the luggage, all of which is ordered for delivery now to avoid any accessory price hike before the bike is delivered. Got to wait and see when (or if) Spider Italy will do a QR petrol cap for the V4 Multistrada but also ordered is an RK 525ZXW chain for the 600 mile service, Brembo HPK 320mm front discs with SR pads, an Evotech cylinder head guard and committed to a pair of case protectors from @Captain. Yes, I know there’s nowt wrong with the 330mm OE discs but I learned from my Panigale V4, HPK 320mm discs are awesome. With the recent (adverse) shift in attitude towards motorcyclists in some European states (sorry, sovereign countries), I’ve resisted the temptation for the Akrapovic full exhaust system and I’m not a fan of overpriced Rizoma kit (and kit was not my first choice descriptor ), Audi inspired indicators or auxiliary lights, so that’s about it ……. for the moment Andy
Good work, old chap. Out of interest, and I'm not being facetious, why not get the V4S? Ducati have gone out of their way to make the PP more of a sporty bike; by fitting all that stuff, the benefits of the PP over the V4S are pretty much null and void.
The primary reason is the Öhlins suspension and I take into consideration the lessons learned from 55,000 miles on my 1200 Multistrada. I tour with the lady in my life who rides a Monster 937cc which has no luggage carrying capacity, panniers and top box (and a Kreiga 20+K10) are essential Engine case, heads and rocker cover protection for the painted finishes, radiator/oil cooler matrix is a given and the steel crash bars have saved my 1200 from significant damage on more than one occasion. I ride my 1200 all year round and whilst not deliberately, in most weathers and I see the V4PP being used no differently. Anyway, it’s not what you got, it’s how you ride it Andy
from my own perspective and the sort of riding I do (fast roads and not touring), I would agree. But also appreciate Andy's points (and its his dosh ). But also interesting to see that most of the few second hand ones around are fully 'luggaged' up
You could add the riding lights good for Motor - (get out of my way) - way riding, Tail tidy R&G or Evotek, Pyramid Fender extenders front and rear, Ducabike Performance Technology adjustable levers, Comfort seat, Roadlok. Iconic Sat Nav mount. Denali Mini Sound bomb (direct replacement, TPMS? There's bound to be something else - Ah yes - Petrol Card Enjoy.
You could also really push the boat out and get a couple of these as the come standard on the Multi 1200/1260/950 but not on the Multi V4 models :-(
Akra full system transforms the mid range and its not obnoxiously loud that would cause you issues in the EU. Worth every penny. Personally If I ever decided to buy a PP I ask them to swap my full system over for sure.
Throttle spacers - do they remove the slop from the throttle movement? I'm finding it quite bad. There seemed to be some debate previously as the whether they fit the PP?? Where do I get them?
The Akra exhaust does sound good and no doubt saves weight and improves performance. But, does it keep the noise below 98db?? If not its no good for me. I've seen first hand people triggering noise detection systems on Austrian passes and I'd prefer not to be susceptible to that. I'm not knocking the pipe, but it needs to be below 98db for me.
I’ll be surprised if the noise from this system reaches 98db. I can measure it on my phone if I know distance and revs.
Yes to both. I didn’t ride mine without but based on the ‘garage’ test, they do the job. No complaints based on the road riding.
Yep, they get rid of all the slop. A very worthwhile addition. Just google 'Ducati Spacers' and make sure you get the proper ones, not the cheap knock offs on eBay!
The Akra cans on my Panigale V4S with DB killers I’m spec it as 107db, that DOES sound loud. The Akra system is nowhere near as load as that.
