Spare key for my MTS

  1. I'd like to get an extra spare key for my MTS so my partner can keep it on her for opening panniers and top box.

    Is it possible to get a key cut or can I order one from Ducati? Any ideas on cost?

  2. Yes, I had an extra cut so I could put it in the front compartment for ease of fueling. You could give your partner the passive key that comes with the bike.

  3. You can get a blank from Ducati for £37, cutting cost me £10 but costs can vary apparently.

  4. t965m - would that be a replacement Red key?.............blank Black keys are about £20 I believe.

    Multistrada 1200 spare key for pillion seat, fuel cap, pannier & top case locks etc.

  7. I just picked up a Ducati key blank from Riders in Bristol for £11 and had it lazer cut at GEMS Security in Hengrove for £10

  9. I thought so too Andy so I've since tried them out with part no: 59840291A which is the same key but packaged as 696 Monster. Now £14. Many thanks for your input :)

  10. Yeah that's the one......you'd think they could suss the right item without you having to find the part number for them!

  11. Or go to a locksmith and ask them to get you a JMA ZA14P.

  13. Just got two key blanks for £14 off EBay and had them cut today for my Multistrada 2010 which cost another tenner. Work like a dream. I didn't get the transponders done as I only wanted the keys for luggage and petrol cap. Bit of a bargain I reckon at 24 for two!!

  14. I bought a blank from China on eBay, even had ducati logo. Got it cut in a car shop in Glasgow. Bargain. Total of £16 sorted.
