What does everyone use to replace the old look yellow bulbs in the headlight. Not bothered about high beam. Just the headlight, would like a white light and possibly more light ?
If you have old style filament bulbs, you could try replacing them with equivalent LED bulbs. Whiter light, use less current. But LEDs are more expensive, and finding ones to fit properly is not entirely straightforward.
Retrofitted led bulbs are an MOT failure and I quote "Existing halogen headlamp units should not be converted to be used with high intensity discharge (HID) or light emitting diode (LED) bulbs. Yes, that theoretically true. But if the beam pattern is good, and the cut-off sufficient, it will probably pass MOT in practice. Keep the old filament bulbs just in case.
Yeah, this is what happened at my friendly MOT'er & after passing it told me about the failure. And this is the LED bulb I had fitted which is been in my daily for the best part of 18 months without issue. Try PIAA bulbs, they do some very bright filament HD bulbs motorbikes can be a harsh environment for bulbs.
Seriously? Are the MOT guys that knowledgeable to know it's not factory OEM? Moreover, as the time goes on, the more LED's are OEM. This will become an non-issue IMO.
