I went to Box Hill yesterday afternoon about 3pm. First time I’ve been there for about 4 years. It’s not how I remember it, lots of choppers and leather waist coat wearing chopper riders and less desirables with extremely noisy super motard style bikes and then only what I can guess were the ‘Croydon’ fraternity previously mentioned on their rice burners wearing t shirts with exceptionally small flipped up number plates? I didn’t stay long. So had a ride up to Newlands Corner which was much more civilised but was pretty devoid of anything to look at bike wise. Maybe it was the wrong time of they day but I was busy in the morning and just fancied a ride.
Sorry to hear the first bit of course, i look forward to the next time. It was a strange atmosphere there, and half the number of bikes you would normally see. Current occupant is spending a fortune on modifications so looks like they are serious and staying for a whie.
you missed a big smash at Newlands. Two cars decided to become one... right at the entrance to the carpark and chaos ensued for an hour as the Police and Fire Brigade closed the road in and out... Bacon butties were not freely handed out. I was most disturbed....
just a reminder that it's the D.O.C. meet at Newlands Corner tomorrow, Timing-wise, It varies, people tend to turn up from 10 o'clock onwards, but last time i checked it's not against the law to turn up even earlier if you feel like it.
What time do people generally stay until? I’m busy first thing but may be able to pop over nearer midday
Midday is perfect unless poor turnout/rain. I've left there at 4 pm when good weather coincides with a good turnout, good craic.
I might dust the bike off Chris and have a ride up as the weathers so nice. Maybe see you just after 10 11am I’m here, nobody else seems to be
I’ll go for an equally excellent bike at my local bike meet on a 12k miles 749. It was absolutely pristine right down to retaining the engineering marks on the bolts. Unfortunately my phone has no charge in it.
