Seems I am forgetful as rocker cover bolts on front head were a bit loose... tightened them all up (4) and hopefully all good... big check of every bolt prior to riding is top activity. Seat unit all secured. Front fairing next... But I'm off out for a curry in a bit. Why not add to the pressure
So with liberal use of gaffa tape and an old indicator off a GSXR think it might be ready. Anyone got a rhs mirror they want to sell me...? I don't care on condition so long as the glass is OK and indicator works I'll get some photos when she is outside... To be continued
Now that's a good question Tbh best curry I've had in a while. Been saying to a mate how a lot of curry houses have gone down hill in recent times. This one was a goodun!
Thornbury...but if there are good ones to recommend in Easton or Stapleton Rd, I'd welcome recommendations as an excuse for a curry! Bike passed its MOT
Did a 30 mile ride on the bike yesterday as a shakedown and test. I also remembered why i stopped riding sportsbikes...comfort. I spent the whole 30 miles with wrist ache and the heat from the exhaust is... mtb'ing has taking its toll and my wrists can't suffer the weight that sportsbikes put on you. That said, bike rode well and handled great and if i am honest looks amazing, especially in the autumn sunshine
After a few conversations with various folk, including @Antnodec i am going to experiment with rearset positions and just enjoy it for what it is and hopefully get out on track. Having reached a point where the bike is pretty much together i am going to try and clear some spares i have accumulated to minimise my costs of this project - see my advert in the Parts For Sale section and happy to take offers etc and hopefully allow others to rebuild projects etc, so go take a look and buy some stuff off me!
Did another 30 miler on the weekend and to be fair, was pretty good. Awful bike around town, but i suspect we all knew that already!
I've got gilles variobars on my 1098. They do improve the comfort quite a bit and of course you can drop them down for track use.
@higgy748 that's a good shout. Did you have std bars before? Did you notice a marked improvement on your wrists?
I never had a problem with wrists. Mine was my neck holding the head up at low speed The bars are wider also if you buy the longer bar end wieghts and no you dont need to change any cables etc. It is very comfy for me
Did i mention, i removed the baffles and that certainly adds significant grin factor, especially in tunnels or adjacent to walls etc
Bike is going up for sale if anyone is interested. Will be on std pipes. £4595 I have the full V5. HPI CAT N. Engine just had rebuild, belts, service etc as per above
