Loved every second of it!!! Thanks for sharing. PS: Just one little correction: 1996 916 SP have a numbered plaque which says « SP3 ».
I thought he came across brilliantly. Knowledgeable but accommodating and sharing the passion all at the same time. Wish Bristol was closer....
I thought he came out very well and seemed to quite enjoy playing to the camera. Looks like BvG has a great find there depending on what he paid for it.
oh yeah dont get me wrong rich is very professional , but i know hes the sort of chap who just likes to be left alone and crack on.
i hope he keeps it a posts a load of videos on it, i know he had an 899 for a while, not sure if any other ducatis, i think he still has the aprillia rsv4, not seen many recent videos of it lately
I’ve known several and nearly bought two and none had a plaque. A real sp3 had a 955 motor iirc but very few shipped in other guise than 916. Think it was Italia Moto (??) in U.K. who would covert to 955 But it is a long time ago…!
I watched this earlier, even though I don’t have a 916. Still found it very interesting, and will watch the whole series.
Actually, a real 916 SP3 came with a 916cc motor with barrels (94mm bore) that had thicker muffs to accommodate the bigger bore (96 mm bore to 955 cc), allowing a 955 conversion later on, if such was the owner’s desire. According to a later article published in our press, only one 916 SP3 is known to have left the factory with this 955 kit already mounted, #461 (out of 497 made total). Many were converted later on, though. Mine is still with its original displacement. The 916 SPA (56 made for the US market only, aka « 955 SP ») is the 955cc 916. I own a very genuine 1996 916 SP3 with a very genuine silver plaque numbered 098. Here’s a bit of 916 SP trivia for your reading and pleasure. https://www.corsasbk.com/tag/ducati-916sp/?v=11aedd0e4327
