Sw Motech Panniers

  1. iam going to the TT this year and looking at taking a tent and some luggage with me. Has anyone used the SW motech blaze panniers?? If so what are your thoughts? Or reccomend anything else??
    Thanks

  2. Can't speak for the sw, but they look great providing they won't rub on the tail..

I use kriega which is great once you've got it 'installed' right

  3. I have a pair, they fit well and (with a strategic bit of padding) haven't rubbed. They seem secure too, up to an indicated 70mph (ish!!!). I haven't yet tested their waterproofing though. I intitally intended to remove the bracket which remains on the bike between uses but find it's quite unobtrusive visually. Overall I'm impressed with mine - they're not huge though so I'd be a bit careful if you're planning on taking much clobber with you.

  4. They look good I've got a spare tail unit that I'm thinking of wrapping in carbon film so not to bothered about marking that one. Where did you find them for the best price? Do you think a small 2 man tent would squeeze into one of the panniers?
    Cheers

  5. I don't know you're based but if you're in SouthYorks area you're more than welcome to come and see if theyd be big enough. I would imagine so actually - they expand if need be.

  6. Cheers Ian I'm not far away I'm in scunthorpe

  7. Can highly recommend them. Travelled a load on my 899 with them; very secure and expand quite a bit. They even come with dry bags. I think they look they're best looking luggage you can get for the bike - suit the lines etc. Pic attached from a recent trip to France.

  10. Did you have any issues fitting them to the 959 and do you know if they would fit with the standard silencers?

    Thanks in advance

  11. Hi no problem fitting to 959 and plenty clearance from standard twin sided exhausts.

  18. Hi all, Newbie here. I know this thread is Ancient, but I have a 1299 and the Motech panniers look the perfect solution to an Italian Lakes tour I'm organising. Trouble is Motech say they do not do a solution for the 1299 (only the 899 & 1199). So to Billy Gordon and Ian (if you're out there) - did you have to do any mods to get it to fit ? If it makes any difference I have a full akra system. Cheers.

  19. Yes I did a mod on the bracket

  20. Thanks Billy, hopefully it wasn't too onerous ! I'll go ahead and order some. Cheers.
