Took the bike out for a few hours. Nearly got taken out by a complete twat on the wrong side of the road, going round a dead pheasant. It was a national, and neither of us were hanging around. Probably the closest I’ve come to a proper head on, so am quite glad to be back home with a glass of wine & roast chicken dinner to look forward to.
Fitted an aftermarket front splitter to the car. Removed crap aftermarket splitter from the car. Put the crap splitter in the recycle bin. The sun came out…
Snow foamed and washed the BM, vacuumed the BM as it was full of dried mud from youngest football. Took said youngest to football for a cup game, they won 4-2. I’m now waiting for my chicken roast with proper gravy!
Had a freeeezing ride to Hawes with a couple of mates today, 3c frost warning was on the dash for most of the ride, even with the ( useless ) Kawasaki heated grips on full my fingers were off !! And for the first time I remember, my toes were frozen as well Supposed to be a little warmer tomorrow so I might have my last ride of the year on the Panigale and then sorn it at the end of the month,…..I’m fed up of this winter already
In agreement with you as i'm a Southern softie, i need two more rides before the end of the month weather premitting if possible.
I’ve just had a similar experience. Took the 899 out for a ride to test the throttle fix and while going round a fairly blind left hander a wagon pulling out across my side of the road and towards me came into view. Luckily I’m always pretty cautious around blind bends but still managed my first rolling stoppie on a bike (didn’t think it was possible with abs!). Driver refused to look at me. That’s the biggest “I’m fucked” moment I’ve had in a while.
I posted out a ebay parcel this morning and received one as well which was nice, food shopping, money out from the bank, a ride on a motorcycle, skip diving for materials, an icecream plus a walk in the countryside, not necessarily in that order.
Had what could possibly be the last “blurt” of the year on the 899… Ended up in the pretty little market town of Richmond, a cup of coffee and basked in the glorious 14c sunshine for a while I feel your pain @Zeus today I think I set the record for the most “ blind” people pulling out in front of me , had five of them, almost turned around and went home because I felt jinxed Yesterday on my freezing ride on the Kawasaki, a woman in a black BMW sports car drew up to a junction on the NS of the road and I thought “ I can see what’s gonna happen here “..sure enough she pulled straight out in front of me, had it covered because I was expecting it, but gave her a good blast of the horn for her efforts,…so what did she do?..apologise?? ..not likely! As she crossed in front of me she scowled and gave me the middle finger fat cow, hope her flaps fall off !
Certainly wakes you up, doesn’t it! It’s only afterwards when you think what could have happened, that it really hits home.
What is it with people in this country going on the defensive when they’re in the wrong, and not just apologising? Fucking imbeciles.
