Fair play to Tommy thought he was going to flap it all weekend, that was a classy ride (and words at the end). Great end to the season and so pleased it wasn’t a wash out weather and sportsmanship wise. Now go try and beat his newcomers time at the TT lol.
Awesome weekend, was there as a guest of MCAMS and No Limits, watched the first BSB race of the day from inside the MCAMS garage and was there when Jason's bike was brought back in, was a tad broken, but he was ok. Had a chat with @Android853sp when he wasn't waving his flag, and Scott Redding wanted a selfie, generally got where I could, watched the finale from the No Limits box and the view and atmosphere was awesome with split loyalties, I was shouting for Tommy as I was at Mallory working for a Supersport team when the paddock lost Ollie so was made up for the Bridewell clan.
I had no idea Irwin was 33 years old , why do they keep calling him kid lol. (good to see sr45 there enjoying himself btw)
I haven’t noticed that they call Glenn a kid, they do call Andy Irwin a kid, because he’s a fair bit younger and the youngest brother, so I guess that stuck. Also, Whitman refers to everyone as being a kid, seems to be his thing
It's rare I get nervous watching a race but the last 3 BSB brands races was one of those occasions, wanted Tommy to win purely very much for sentimental reasons. The tension of the last race was particularly bad, none of the first three wanted to do anything too rash, if it had bean earlier in the season that would have been quite different I think and no doubt all three would have has a lash at it. Unbelievable last race. Well Done to Dan Linfoot on the stocker 1000 local rider, local team and again someone who has raced for years without a british championship title. Won it in a champions style.
Thank you for popping over to say hi Was a busy weekend for us, 7 pick ups, including a side car roll over, just on the Sunday. I think it was 12 in total over the weekend. Very surprised to see Jason out for the second race, he and his bike passed me at about 100mph, 10 feet away from my flag station. Just got back home …. bloody knackered Sadly that’s it for the season and now got a long old wait for our first round in 2024. Not sure we’ll get the call for the first round at Navarra, complicated logistics getting the first estimate of 30 volunteer IO’s and experienced marshals out to the middle of nowhere (no slight on Pamplona intended). Andy
Yeah i have to say, that was one of the best weekends racing I've ever been to..... got soaked on both days at Donington, but still enjoyed it. Always do BH finale weekend, and it was great this year to spend 5 days with a mate on the run up. A normally unflappable fella, but not when it comes to cheering on TB46.... being in the Padock Hill grandstand on the Sunday was just great, how i imagine 70's and 80's F1 races were. A dash up to the finish line for the warm down lap to finish and the podium celebrations to begin, yeah, really nice. Lovely weather, just the perfect autumnal day, I've not seen BH look as good since the early naughties WSBK rounds. We really are spoiled with having such an epic championship on these shores. i have to admit, i was secretly hoping Ryde would do it, the less obvious choice at the mid point of the season. I've no affiliation with OMG, and never ridden a Yamaha, but he comes across like a great lad (i heard somewhere that he takes his Grandad out every Sunday for a roast...top marks). But there's always next year, and I for one cannot wait. Already devising a plan to attend each round in the new campervan.... maybe not Navarra....but maybe i do....mmmm.
