Jorge M through to Q2, Pecco going through Q1 Bez third MotoGP Results - 2023 MotoGP World Championship round 15 - Mandalika Street Circuit, Indonesia Practice (crash.net) Looks a good time to be on an Aprilia
Yep. And Pecco showing signs of struggling again. He leaves it late to put in hot laps as usual. Binder, Aprilia, Martin and Bez looking good. Dare I say…MM could go well there too.
I kind of want JM to win the title now, to stop 93 becoming the first satellite winner next year . Is that extremely petty of me?
Congratulations to Ducati for the Manufacturers title, as for Pecco as he lost his mind or what at this very important part of the season, he'd regret it next year if he doesn't pull up his socks.!
Exceptional riding by Martin recently. Four sprints in a row and riding with confidence. Even if Peco gets his act together he’ll still struggle if Martin keeps up his recent form.
Can’t help but think some of these “flyaway” rounds are just great big corporate/sponsor jollies because it’s certainly not for the racing by and large. Another dreary spectacle dictated by a shit track surface after the first couple of corners although hats off to Bez and Marini for riding through those injuries for podium places and yes JM really does look like the main man now.
Didnt seem dreary to me, some great racing. Martin making some fantastic overtakes to get to the front Marini and Bez getting in the mix…despite recovering from broken collar bones. Real grit. Hopefully Binder and Aleix will have more to say about the top 5-6 riders in the main race Sunday. Vinales had serious pace. Counts for nothing if you finish your tyres with five laps left and not enough of a lead. Marini and Bez would probably have given Martin a harder time if Maverick had not been a rolling road block for several laps! Baggy? Well, he either is amazing or cracks under pressure. JM looks ice cool win or lose. Maybe we are looking at the new MM.
Thought it was an excellent Saturday regarding qualifying and the Sprint. In comparison to other rounds this one had the lot. Especially with the track being so dirty off line , I reckon it made for some real tense racing knowing it was possible somebody was going to bin it. Game on I’d say.
Just find it a bit frustrating when there’s only one racing line. Bit like the bsb race earlier where Irwin was clearly faster than TB but he (sensibly) kept it tidy and there was nowhere for an overtake. it’s mental how it’s on a tiny island too that you need to get a ferry to, looks lovely but a logistical nightmare and looks like zero crowd for the second year running.
It just goes to show that you never ever set the table until the chickens are hatched, Pecco back with the programme but a very unlucky JM.
Martin looked like he had it all nicely under control. Until he didn’t. Lots of people losing the front end. Fortunate for Peco but even 2nd would have been impressive after starting in 13th place. Can’t wait for the next one!
Another brilliant race. Wonder where Binder would have finished without two long lap penalties? Wtf, tyre choice for Aleix…didnt work in sprint race for Vinales, so how would it work over 27laps?
I wonder whats happened to Zarco lately feels like hes fallen off a bit of a cliff performance wise since earlier in the year.
