  3. I missed last week’s goal, due to being on the lash on the IoW. This week I’ve only managed a few commutes, 7 miles a day, better than nothing. Today I finally got an old bike on the rollers, very rusty, wobbly but it’s a start. Hopefully tomorrow and Sunday I will get a couple of decent rides in. I sweated horribly so the decorators fan will be dug out and a new BT speaker to keep the music blaring out.

  6. saw Nigel Planer walking along Thames at Walton, rode through 6 inch deep water on the way back and almost came off bike after a light tank slapper.

  7. It's a Hope R4. I've had it a couple of years, it's pretty good. Lasts a few rides and the light is good enough for pitch dark riding.
If I go with my mate his makes mine worthless , it's like the sun ! . It cost him about 450, can't remember the name of it

  8. 30 miles in the dirt over the moors on one of my mtb's this afternoon, cold but fun.....

  9. I had to abandon my ride 15 miles from home due to some shifting issues.
While looking for the problem I gave the rear derailleur cable the slightest of pulls and it came away in my hands. It had worn through at the bar end, it took some fishing out from the ultegra shifter!

  12. Same chap, he's worth a follow IMO.
Here he goes around one of the loops I occasionally venture on my MTB.

  15. Looking for recommendations for overshoes?

    Got extremely wet this morning

  16. Started training again, 18 months off without cycling, going to the Alps again next year, not been since 2019. Passed my bike test and cycling went out the window.

  17. Not ever found overshoes to work that well TBH.

Eventually the water gets in I’ve always found.

Possibly the best combination for me has been Winter boots and SealSkins. Once the water gets on your legs gravity takes over and fills your boots.
