  1. I've had the fuel tank replaced under warranty and all is good plus the fuel smell that I had when the bike was in the garage has now also gone. Great service from Ducati Stoke.

  2. Did they say what caused the fuel smell? In the two years I had my 1260, the garage always smelt of fuel, the dealer checked the bike out but couldn’t find any issue, so I never did find out what it was.

  3. I just swapped my keyless fuel cap back to the normal one before I sold my bike and got a strong fuel smell. When I dropped it at the dealers they said there is a gasket underneath which can get dislodged or trapped. Might be your answer?

  4. Could be. The bike is long gone now, so hopefully the new owner has sorted it.

  5. I had this problem when I swapped a keyless filler cap between bikes, a right pain to get a good seal on the gasket.

  6. Apparently there wasn’t a rubber gasket on the fuel cap I put back on. I’m slightly pissed off as the dealer inferred it was my fault it was missing when all I did was refit the one they had originally taken off.
