I do wonder if Ducati might have milked their customers too much on this one. No doubt it will sell but come this time next year the V4S will be updated and the RS will be last years model.
its a blatant play on a name, might as well as called it a troy Bayliss edition..... about as much in common!
I’ll say no as it’s too expensive, too precious, too focused and probably horrible to insure. (Then probably put an order in when I’ve seen it at the Bike Show )
Nope, I’m sticking with my PP. Which has more torque, and delivers its power lower down the rev range, compared to the RS, which will only come into its own at the higher end. Which is pointless on our roads. The cost to change would be somewhere between £8-£10k (and that’s before adding a full system, panniers etc) which I would really struggle to justify. If the RS was under £30k, I’d probably talk myself into it, but £32k before adding options makes it a non starter for me, especially as I’ve got a Monster Anniversario coming in March. If this was a numbered Limited run, it would be a different story, but Ducati will keep making them as long as people will buy them. I’ll keep my bike for another year, will order the RS tail, assuming it’ll fit, and maybe the decals for the wheels, then will order a face lifted PP this time next year.
To spec a V4RS up to close the spec of my 21 plate V4S would be just under £36k. Plus a massive hike in insurance for those of us in the south east. I'll stick with the V4S, does everything with no hassle at all.
My 21 reg V4S cost me just over £17k brand new. The RS is nearly double that with many of the same components.
I was at Pro Twins picking up my new V4S today, Rob apologised that he had to stop the handover at 3 for a few minutes as he had a customer who wanted an RS (anyone here want to own up?) and he had to order it there and then. He said probably most of them will be ordered and reserved within a few hours of the announcement (apparently that’s what happened with the recent anniversary monster launch)
