It’s a great bike but it’s not an ‘all roads’ bike like the other Multis. No top box or rack capability. Weight difference isn’t going to be noticeable, nor the power difference. Worse mpg on a bike that already likes a drink. The RS is a trinket bike really.
Hands down pikes peak looks nicer. With a squint RS graphic looks like GS. Red calipers from Halfords. I bet it goes well though. Makes me want a pikes peak more.
In the eye of the beholder. The v4rs is the first Multi since the very first PP that looks good to me. Still looks bloated though.
Exactly, you’re paying more money for less functionality. If I was going to spend this sort of money on a track weapon, that can do a bit of a trip occasionally, it would be a Streetfighter V4SP2, which is a much more special bike, rather than a parts bin special.
You have a good point there. The top end of the engines are completely different so it would have to be a completely new map(s).
@Multirider75, a link to the V4 PP parts list, https://downloads.ctfassets.net/oif...TISTRADA_V4_PIKES_PEAK_-_EN_-_MY23_-_ED01.pdf. Page 188 should give you an idea of what will need to be changed. I’m guessing it will be several months before the V4RS parts list is available for us on the web site. Andy
Because it is more of a super Grand Tourer for people with deep pockets. Surely the Streetfighter or V4 sportsbike would be the track choice…?
Wouldn't be my choice for a track weapon, but I don't think it would be my choice for my next Multi either.....
Make no bones about it, I've tracked a 748sp, an 853sp, a 748R, an 853RS, a 1098R and a Panigale V4S. My 2010, 1200 Multistrada S is an absolute hoot. I might not be the outright fastest in a straight line but my lap times are as quick as anything I've ridden Andy
Well I’ve been out for a blast this morning. Cold, mucky roads, floods damage, very glad I was riding my v4s with heated seat, heated grips, touring windshield and 19” front wheel and Michelin road 6s Fun ride, bloody glad I wasn’t on an RS
Bennett’s Bike Social take on it, https://www.bennetts.co.uk/bikesoci...the pictures, the RS,that saves another 1.4kg. Not the most accurate piece of motorcycling journalism I’ve read but it gives you the gist. Andy
Their usual slant on things I guess I see a point but still don't get the point. An interesting comparison with the Streetfighter V4. There were 2 or 3 V4 Pikes Peak on the Ducati day at Silverstone but other than those few of us who are dedicated track riders on our Multistradas I don't see many track day addicts buying one After watching the video, it makes about as much sense as a road bike as the Panigale V4R.
