I've just hit the 7500 miles mark on my 2019 1260S on the original tires. I do like to get my moneys worth ! In truth they were showing signs of being past their best around 6K, with the rear flattening off and the front wearing more on the RHS. This meant tipping into right corners always gave you a wandering feel as it rode over the worn edges. Also roads with poor surface meant holding a strait line wasn't easy. Fine for just cruising around on as I've done the past few rides out, but not if your wanting to ride toward the limits. Anyway, shes tucked up for the winter now and new tires will be fitted in the spring
You're not far wrong. Any new tyre will feel like a huge improvement on what you've been riding on lately... Enjoy choosing and then riding on new tyres, just be aware that the bike will tip in alarmingly quickly in comparison.
