I had Ducati heated grips on my Scrambler Classic, and have them on my Multistrada now. They’re easy to use and can get very toasty indeed.
Not fitted them myself as they are a PITA where the connector is buried deep in the loom and you have to half dismantle the bike. On some models, the heated grips need to be ‘activated’ by the dealer. You might be able to negotiate a fixed price to fit them if you are having the bike serviced. Andy
I have the heated grips on my street fighter. I would like the factory heated grips for my monster 1200R, yes they need to be activated by Ducati, just seeing if anyone on here has maybe done it on there 1200R
That’s odd, just checked the accessories page for the 1200R and Ducati don’t list heated grips for any year Andy
Hi Andy, yes your correct, they don’t list for 1200R, however they do list for the 1200, 1200s, and 1200 Anniversario, I’ve asked one of the Ducati dealerships to enquire for the 1200R as the TFT is the same for 821, and 1200 models, the dealership come back with, bike needs to be in at the dealership to activate the heated grips, just asking on here to see if anyone has done the heated grips
I agree the R models runs a different ECU as it had more power than the rest, as for the heated grips surely it’s a matter of telling the ECU the bike has them and switching them on ?.
I had heated grips fitted by Pro Twins. They said that there is no facility for Ducati heated grips for the 1200r. They hard wired a set on mine and they work fine.
I have them factory fitted on my 2023 Monster+ 937 - they are very good, three heat settings. I had them factory fitted on my Scrambler Desert Sled also, same settings, same excellent quality
Thinking of getting Ducati own ones for Christmas for my 937.. Just need a decent exhaust and I'm finished with my upgrades.

I'm looking at heated grips vs heated gloves for my Monster 937 SP. Ive heard heated grips work well with bar/grip wind deflectors but without you only get warm palms and wind iced outside fingers. I don't want to add deflectors. Did you go for the grips?
Just had a pair fitted yesterday, so many thanks to Ducati Manchester.. They seem fantastic to be fair!
Had them fitted on my 2018 Monster 1200 when new, always work as required with no problems. with the benefit of no additional switch/control panel on the handlebars. A bit pricey at £250, but the bike came with £500 of extra's so a no brainer.
Not a Ducati but when I rode my BMW in cold weather the heated grips did nowt until around 1 hour into the journey. I found heated gloves far superior, I bought the battery version but next time I’d hard wire them.
I’ve got heated under gloves that you wire into the bike. They’re very thin, so can be worn under summer gloves, and are bloody hot!
