Managed at long last to give the bike a clean and take it for it's service. It's now with Cornerspeed being taken care of by Nelly. Even after 6 years of ownership, the grin factor is 10/10. For a bike that is 8 years old, I think the looks get better each year. Sorry for the self indulgence, but, just thought I'd share a few pic's taken this morning
Stunningly good looking bike. Is your subframe an o.e.m part, or did you have this fitted due to the failure of the original?
Bought the bike when it was just over a year old, completely standard. There was no paperwork to show change in sub frame, and I have not swapped it. So I assume it is the OEM part fitted from new.
Lovely looking bike mate. I think the 999/749 is a future classics in the vein of the Ferrari Daytona, in that people hated them at the time however age made them one of the most iconic.
Carbon749 The reason I asked was yours is a Black sub-frame. When the silver coloured sub-frame on my 749s cracked in 2 places, it was replaced free of charge by Ducati with a Black coloured frame that I was informed was stronger.
Knew of subframe issues. I always thought the OEM mono sub frame was black, and the BP was silver ?? No issues with my sub frame, thankfully
fantastic 999. Love the tail tidy. Where did you get it from. would like to see a close up of it if poss. cheers
Home made. 2 or 3 mm Stainless steel, an hour or so in the workshop and a £15 LED cats eye back light.
Beautiful bike, I only have a base 999 which I've improved to be better than a std 999r but it's still not an R, I'd love to get hold of a quality 999R like yours as a keeper which I'd keep near bog std. A real credit to your taste in motorcycles Carbon.
