New shape 848 / baby 1199?

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by Ducatibob848, Feb 20, 2013.

  1. Well I'm happy. It's good to have something to back up a discussion.

Now I just need to find another hidden away tidbit

  2. I read the MCN article to my other half at the weekend. She asked, 'if you had known about that would you have ordered one of those instead of the full fat Panigale' after some thought I said No, I ordered the Panigale because I don't have that many years left when I will be able to ride a superbike, the old knees, wrists and back will mean having to move to something more comfortable. So, I want what I consider to be the ultimate for what will most proberbly be my last. But that's just me, and I don't imagine I am the market that motorcycle manufactures are hoping to appeal to so I think a smaller capacity style Panigale will be very popular.

  3. Since when has a 899 cc bike been classed as slow? Anyone who says they need a 200bhp bike is a much better rider than the average joe or telling fibs. I rode a panigale a month ago and loved the bike, but not as much as my 848. But I felt it wasn't fun as it was too quick , and I actually had more fun pushing it harder in wet mode at 120hp. However there is no denying its a easier bike to ride.

I won't be buying a 1199, but I hope to have a 899 version at some point. Unless its crap, then ill buy a mv

  4. I have to say, Im loving this thread ! I wanted to multiquote but it wont work for me....arrgghh :-/ There are some very valid points that folk make.

Anyway, we're all excited, be it because its been said to death "anyone hear of the new 799 / 899 yet? " or not, but its all good.

Myself, im confident enough to put a bit of integrity on the line ( actually,i dont have any ), i reckon its coming - the 848 replacement. Whatever its called, it will be an updated / next evolution of the 848. I reckon bhp will be around the same, box swingarm like on the 999, but not a "frameless" bike - this would be way too costly to manifacture (?). It may possibly hold the same fairing character of the Panigale, who knows.

As the the engine, we could be surprised, it maybe a new engine completely, more revy end like the pani ? Ducati clearly have been pushing the boat ou, particularly when you look at the Multistrada or the highly engineered Panigale.

Eitherway, i will look forward to seeing in before November this year :upyeah: ~( and a 17.5ltr tank  )

  5. I am holding out for the 1399 panigale............ Al get mi coat

  6. To save you all the hassle of trawling the internet for page references, you could just go and ask your dealer when he is going to Italy to see it.

  7. I have. All they said is they're going to Italy in October, they don't know what for. Hence I bought a diavel. If they'd confirmed it I'd have ordered one instead.

  8. There is a dealer meeting in Rome beginning of October but the 899 will have been launched before that

  9. So bolds, you've been on target so far. Any other info to share? Is it a single sided swing arm? Led lights? Same as 1199 with s&r to follow?

  10. V4 600cc supersport winner?

  11. no to both your questions, last one don't know

  12. Shame.

I think an SSA would look much better

  13. Maybe maybe not but that's one of the cost cutting measures to make the price lower than 1199

  14. Same digital dash and electronic suspension?

  15. Oh....

  18. Very interesting

  19. I quite like it, but you have to ask why rework the swingarm, rear wheel, rear brake probably rear shock linkage to name a few things

  20. Keep costs down to allow you to price it lower than the 1199 and in the expected price bracket.
