  1. Both the authors I mention are long dead, I find it interesting hearing their predictions for the future that we are now living. Many like to quote Orwell as they were made to read him for O'level.
    Soma appears to be more effective than the jack boot....;)

  3. Jack Ryan, just started series one. When you watch stuff like this you can’t help but think how can anyone actually like America and its amazing they don’t get attacked more for how they behave as judge, jury and executioner in any jurisdiction

  5. Reacher is even worse, I couldn't watch it , as I though the main character was a massive c*nt.

  7. The Great Escaper - general release at cinemas - based on the true story of a WW2 veteran who escapes his care home to visit the 70th anniversary of the D day landings. The film is light on plot but superbly acted by Michael Caine, Glenda Jackson and John Standing. Well worth seeing - 8/10

  12. Watching Bodies, a series on Netflix. It’s set in three time periods - past, present & future and starts with the same corps being found at the same location in each period. I’ve watched 3 of 8 episodes and I’m enjoying it so far.

    Steve Coogan is outstanding in the role as Savile.
    I can only manage one episode every few days...:(
     
  18. We’re currently watching Bodies on Netflix Starring Stephen Graham. It’s good but it’s a mind fuck. :)

  19. my uninvited spin-pod keeps banging on about "Pact of Silence" (and it worked because here I am talking about it) but reviews don't look all that?.. Anyway, i await the DF appraisal with interest.

    Currently Bada-Bing(e) watching the entire Sopranos as it had been a while.
