I’ve been listening to Cult Leader Tactics by Paul Draper (ex-Mansun) over the past few weeks. Really like it.
Cracking - always surrounded himself with superb musicians. I've got a double album of Zappa guitar solos.... I don't think I've ever heard the fourth side
Cracking - always surrounded himself with superb musicians. ..and included someone even further off the planet, not to mention technicality. https://unlocktheguitar.net/blog/the-holdsworthian-approach-to-diminished-scales/
Somewhere along the way I've seen him before... it might have been from yourself on here. Yeah getting to that jazz point that I can appreciate the technical prowess but sometimes can be hard work to listen to Looking at his wiki page I see he's played with many others. Nucleus/Soft Machine, Bruford in the early days through to Krokus & Jack Bruce and I also notice with Level 42!
The unique , and outstandingly gifted Allan Holdsworth ( RIP ) does not get nearly enough praise and recognition , although he gets plenty from fellow musical giants , as in this quote from John McLaughlin - " I would steal everything that Allan does , if I could only work out what it is he's doing " BTW - in case anyone wondered , the stunning drumming is by Chad Wackerman ( great name for a great drummer ! )
