Hi - as above - ive got a hyper 1100 so never in here....but, saw an sc project tail pipe from an 821 last week - told my mate - got it on bay 107quid delivered so it was too cheap to let up...i did ask if it would fit a 797 - got the thumbs up but on arrival and my mate turning up it doesnt fit for a variety of reasons....first and foremost the exit of the link pipe is 60mm (approximates now) an the header connection is about 52mm plus the oem header kinda has a short inner which the old tail connected onto...so question is...how do we make it fit (open to all suggestions...!) or if anyone has a link pipe that'd work...thatd be good too...thanks to anyone that takes a punt...
Just buy a 60mm to 52mm reducer. This kind of thing. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/13121346...uid=KJvPL0_FQeC&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
Here it is on the 821....there looks to be a short collar joining the two but, on my mates 797 - it (the Header) seems to be longer..might just be me though...
This should do it as the 52mm you measured is a OD so 50mm should slot in nicely. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/13121346...uid=KJvPL0_FQeC&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
Lovely - thanks very much....ill throw up some photos just for reference...pretty sure ill be cutting down the link pipe on the sc side...
Ok - so he came back today....i ordered the link pipe which was generic....it kinda fitted so we might revisit it...! looks ok...just not over the moon with the link pipe fitment..had to chop down both sides of that little link pipe...by fuck it was a tight fit but, no exhaust will leak out... Next question is (as he left) and as i expected there was a nice big backfire from the exhaust...he did text me just and said it only did it a few times...so its running a bit lean...im just googling at the moment...am i right in assuming theres a sas system you can block off or get plates for?
