  1. Ferrari F355 … engine and subframe out every 3 years

  2. every three years. no problems around seized bolts then. chortle. and by the looks of it, just one big electrical connection for the wiring loom. looks easier and quicker (but not as sexy) than doing the fiat 20v.

  6. A friend of mine had the above service carried out, together with a couple of tyres the final invoice was £8,000 in 200/ at an independent garage. Dread to think what it would be now. Beautiful all the same.

  11. I think you might be referring to his MC20? Which is a different, more modern car. And a very beautiful car!!
     
  12. I am surprised they need changing every 3 years, given the huge area and thickness of belt. Even the stress point look no worse than a Pinto unit, are the belts Gates units?
     
  13. Not up to speed on modern cars but think that went to be replaced with a Ferrari. As Viv says think it’s grey and a soft top
     
  14. No mate - this is mine … 458 Spider. I still have the MC20 as well … decided not to sell it after all. The haircut was too much to take. You don’t take the hit if you don’t sell (right?) and the 458 is as good as money in the bank so that helps offset the depreciation ;-)

    I suppose it works if someone gave you the 458 so you didn’t have to pay for it…

    I must say the MC20 is a beautiful looking car. But if taking a bath worries you, stick with the 911 range. But I’m sure you already know this…

  17. They didn’t have to … it was better than free because it actually saved me money :)

    The reason I put the MC20 up for sale was to replace it with the new convertible Cielo version. As used MC20 prices tumbled though, I decided I couldn’t bear to take such a hit, especially knowing that the a new Cielo would suffer much the same depreciation as the Coupe version in a year or two.

    All turned out well though. With some VERY advanced man maths I worked out that I could get the 458 Spider, and keep the MC20 Coupe for less than what I would have spent on the Cielo. Job done :)
