Given the quality of UK roads you will be feeling like it is "off road" at times - Get the metal mounts!
I didn't order an off-road mount, and mine is metal. I don't remember seeing two options when I ordered mine last year, so maybe they added the metal mounts, and changed the regular ones to plastic?
I've had no problems with the Iconic sat nav mount (Garmin Zumo XT) in about 8k miles and it has the plastic parts.
Just been notified my Pikes Peak has been built and should be invoiced in the next few weeks Not sure if that means it will or won’t include the adjustable wing flaps. One thing for sure, the sump guard and heated grips will be delivered after the bike Andy
June ‘24 was the delivery date last time I asked, about a month ago. Probably collect it in March now. Andy
Deja vu One thing I’ve learnt from 55,000 miles on my 1200, the long term condition of the cases (and horizontal exhaust header) benefits from protection from the crud kicked up on the roads in the UK. Andy
I didn’t get flaps fitted as standard on my V4S, had to order the parts separately (or the updated phone cover). I’m also waiting for heated grips on back order!
The hope was, the 2024 wing spec on all the Multistrada variants would include the adjustable flaps. Maybe, maybe not. Andy
Amazing how Ducati improve on delivery by 5 months .. any explanation why ? Have suppliers suddenly caught up with demand ? Cancelled orders ? switched orders to RS ?
At a guess the cost of living crisis is starting to bite hard. Mortgages, energy costs and the the general cost of borrowing must be having an effect. It astonishes me the level of debt some people are happy to live under.
You have all the information I have. I could speculate but that’s all it would be, speculation. IIRC from our factory tour, production slots for a run of specific models are planned way in advance and the guide implied, if there were insufficient orders for that specific model by the time it came to the scheduled production date, that production line was temporarily shut down. My guess is, production of the Pikes Peak has been promoted to the front of the queue. The initial delivery date for a Pikes Peak ordered a couple of weeks after mine, was November ‘24 and I believe that is now January. Go figure Andy
I would say, and this is an educated guess, they reduced production of the Pikes Peak, in anticipation of the flurry of RS orders. They haven’t taken as many orders as they thought they would, so have ramped Pikes Peak production back up again. They’ve priced it way over the top. Up until the night before it was announced, the RS was going to be around £2k cheaper, but they changed the price at the last minute. Which has shot themselves in the foot, as quite a few people that wouldn’t have hesitated ordering one, myself included, have just thought nah, it ain’t worth the premium they’re asking for it.
Same thing seemed to happen to me last year. I ordered my Bayliss end of September 2022 to beat the October price rise, was given an expected delivery date of March 2023 and at the beginning of November 2022 was told the bike was in and ready to pickup. No explanation given - dealer speculated that someone had dropped out and we were randomly allocated the slot.
Just wanted to say that the Iconic Radiator covers look very smart and were easy to fix. IMHO better looking than the Evotech ones when I compared mine with @steveb123 's on Saturdays
Apparently, my Pikes Peak was assembled in October (and is a 2024 MY) which rather throws my speculation in the bin. Andy
