V4 Multistrada V4rs

  1. I agree with you, I think the ADV sector, for me, is really more Sports / Touring than ADV and the V4 fits that bill perfectly. Quite a few people that I know have got second bikes for off-road / green laneing for proper ADV riding but I don't see that sector growing much more unless they go electric to please the ECO warriors. Many older riders are looking at the sub 1 litre bikes for doing sport / touring riding mainly because of weight, Triumph Tiger / Yamaha Tracer etc.
IF Ducati could make a V4 that is 50Kg lighter I would be in the queue, right now I'll stick with the current V4S as it does everything that I want it to do; even though I would need help to pick it up!

  2. Judging by the number of adv style bikes on the roads (both in the UK and all over Europe), and the number of new ones being launched, I’d say the segment is well and truly alive and kicking, with no signs of dissipating.

  3. did you find anything out about the akra system. as far as i can tell, most dealers are still in the dark about specifics like that.

  4. No one at the two dealers near Houston wanted to talk about "accessories" for the V4RS and very, very little about the RS itself. Unwilling to even make a "deal" but pushed hard for getting a deposit down ( refundable) to "get on the list". I'll be in Dallas, TX over the holidays and will visit AMS there ( a major player in Ducati US) which is where I have my deposit posted. The guys there are usually well versed on what's in the pipeline & always willing to share info.

They had the new Akra "full race" system for the Diavel there a few months ago. What a piece of art that is!!!!!!!

I have a full system on my S1000XR and my MTS 1260S. It's become a de-facto standard for me. LOL.

  5. What do you want to know? I’ve spoken to my dealer at great length.

  6. I want to know -
    1) Will there be a full Akra Race Exhaust available?
    2) What will it cost?
    3) Will it use the supplied "Akra Slip-on" or a new one?
    4) & most important - How much weight will it save?

    Thanks / Cheers, D

  7. Reckon most of that same as existing V4 system. Yes, shitloads depending on deal you can cut with your dealer, new one and same weight saving as v4 akra? :upyeah:

  8. Somewhat confused by the lack of information available to you. I’m told the V4RS headers are made from titanium as standard and the V4RS accessory Race Exhaust, only replaces the catalytic converter with a collector box to mate the titanium headers with the replacement race end can. UK price of the Race Exhaust is just shy of £3000, say $3700 US. The race end can will be different as the OE end can is EU5 compliant. Weight reduction is 5kg. Availability is anyone’s guess. 9. Andy - Many Thanks. I see all sorts of conflicting info on the Web (but then that's not news) but was somewhat surprised when I spoke to the local dealer ( which is why I'm buying from Dallas and not Houston). I'm sure once I meet with the guys in big D, I'll be able to nail down my configuration et al.

    Cheers, Dw

  10. Just one thought, a few years ago, it was reported Ducati US was raided and prosecuted for selling race exhausts that ended up being used on road bikes. Not sure what the conclusion of that case was and whether it will affect the sale of a “race” system in the US. Andy

  11. I’ve just had the Akrapovic system fitted to my 23’ Pikes Peak and notice the part number on the box 96482291AA is also the same listed for the 2024 V4RS.

  12. Doesn’t surprise me, just hope the workshop manager uploaded the correct map :D Andy

  13. Me too …. Don’t they upload the correct map from your VIN number. I just noticed that the part number was different compared to a few months ago.

  14. I think @Multirider75 said just that. Andy

  15. Yeah they changed the part number around 3 months ago. More EU bollocks, bloody annoying for those of us with the ‘old’ full system that now have to get a whole new system when we change bikes next time.

  16. Well - the race exhaust is definitely available however each "dealer" does indicate it is not applicable for "street duty", aka "race only". Many states in the USA do not have SMOG inspections for motorcycles so "environmental compliance" is not enforced. California is far & away the WORST and have much stricter regulations/requirements. There are noise regulations that vary dramatically from location to location but they are not always enforced.

I have full Akra systems on the 1260 and the XR and have never had any problems.

  17. Spoke to my UK dealer this morning and my understanding is, UK customers will be asked to sign an indemnity to absolve the dealer of any legal responsibility. Not sure if dealers are doing it or have been requested to do it. Andy

  18. Was always going to happen eventually.
No doubt someone has tried to sue a dealer for not telling them it was race use only and not road legal.

  19. Yes, I was asked to sign a indemnity last week for the new exhaust…

  20. I had to sign an indemnity AND the dealer had to load my '22 MTS V4 PP on trailer with the lights taped-off with blue tape and take pictures, to use as evidence that my bike was for "off-road' use only... heh.
