Glasto 2024

  1. Anyone doing the coach ballot tmrw?

Me and my mates are all 50 next year and everyone’s driving me mad to get a ticket but there’s no way I’m sitting ion a smelly arse coach for god knows how many hours or trying to drive back from Somerset with 250k others after a 5 day bender.

    Madonna too :sob::weary_face::tired_face:

  2. I’d rather stick pins in my eyes. Madonna or no Madonna. :)

  3. I always watch it on a Saturday night and think yeh that looks pretty decent but then I think of being surrounded by a 100 thousand people trying to get to the same bar and toilet as you are.

    Then the drive home.

I’ve also just found out you can’t leave early if you want to.

Or buy a coach ticket but make your own way down there.

Going to try and do the TT instead I think (if I can get a ferry tkt).

  4. I couldn’t think of anything worse.

  5. I would have liked to see Madonna live up to maybe 2010. Now I'd only go if it was free.

  6. Going to the civilised version that is End of the Road festival
The sheer size of Glasto puts me off.
I did however enjoy the village that is Glasto out of season, shops full of dream catchers and dreadlocked elderly stoners mooching around.

  7. If you've never been then you don't know what you're missing.
You have to love music more than the inconvenience, cross it off your bucket list.

  8. I know what I’m missing and I’m not missing it at all. I love live music but now only frequent very small venues.

  11. We went to see M Ward in Shepherds Bush a couple of weeks ago, great gig in a beautiful venue.

  12. Err, no. Andy

  13. If you can only think of the downside to the festival you might be better swerving it and choosing something else.
I have nothing but great memories of Glasto but I was a lot younger and more willing to ignore the inconveniences. Most of who I saw were great bands, I don’t wish to repeat the experience though.

As with all outdoor events weather is everything, been to outdoor concerts when it’s rained and it’s grim.

Johnny Cash was a very good act even though he was on at around 3 pm. He also rated his show as one of his best. 1994 oh lord that time went by quick….

  14. Just for reference I used to go to the Stonehenge festival’s many years ago , before glasto was a thing. Stonehenge was something else. Entry by invitation more or less!!
