I managed to book a test ride on the Norton V4SV for some time in the new year, stunning looking bike, with an equally stunning price tag of £44k
yes but that’s a Norton… this is a Kawasaki for 27k’ that’s been mildly polished every few years since 2013!!!
Well….. I think of excellent value as defined by the relationship between how much it cost the manufacturer to get the bike into the showroom, and how much I need to pay to ride it out of the showroom. RE Himalayan otr price in Uk £5k Same bike, same spec, from a RE main dealer in India £2k (I understand they can be bought legitimately direct from the factory for a fraction of that, but you need to have the right contacts and go down the right channels) In India, I would say it is excellent value. I accept there are some additional costs for T/A, marketing, better warranties and duties to pay before it is in the UK dealers, but it is the exact same product from the exact same production plant, and to me, a 250% markup from a ride out price elsewhere in the world is a lot closer to total rip off than it is to excellent value.
