1098s Raised Bars - Any Recommendations Please ?

Discussion in 'Ducati General Discussion' started by SS427, Nov 27, 2023.

  1. Morning all. Anyone recommend a pair of raised bars for my 1098S ?
The Ducabike silver ones with a plus 35mm look like they might do the job ?
    Gillies also list a pair.
    Cheers

  2. I had a few options on my 848, stuff like Helibars never worked for me because to get them where you need them the steering lock never worked, the best option I found was to use the SpeedyMoto top clamp. Which immediately raised the clip ons by nearly 20mm, I’ve attached the pic of the clip ons with the speedymoto top clamp so you can see how much space I then had to raise them up.

  3. I have Gilles variobars on my 1098 and 748sps
I also have some adjustable footrest plates on the 1098 which move back and lower the pegs about 3/4-1"
    It's very comfy

  4. Any photos ?

  6. Thanks for the photos. Ideally I want the bars to be closer and higher. The daft lowness of the fairing means that it hits the backs of my hands when on a lock.

  7. I get you mate, reduced offset bars I think are a good option, maybe the renthals, but to get the height you will need the top clamp, and I know it’s only a bit but it does sort of bring them closer because they come up the fork leg at an angle, it’s just not the inch closer you are probably after

  8. To be honest a photo isn't going to help. You need to sit on a bike to "feel" the difference
Also your problem with hands hitting the fairing in full lock will remain. That to me is just a minor inconvenience bearing in mind how often I use full lock. I suppose in a city you will use it a lot more
