I am replacing my chain and sprockets for my V4 multi, with the OE DID Ducati ones. The kit doesn't come with the little packet of white grease for the o rings and rivets, which look like they have a fine film on them. I cant find anyone selling the white grease. Is there an other type of grease I should use, or are Ducati saying its not required?
Not sure but it’s the first time I’ve heard of anybody replacing the chain with an OE one that will rust and look cruddy within days of fitment. Most folks tend to upgrade to something a bit better protected and blingy.
Shite idea as rickyx says. I personally destroyed the OEM chain just after my bike was run in,...they be wank.
16000 miles, still looks like new. No rust and the chain has had only minor adjustments. Only changing as a precaution due to the mileage. anyone got an answer to my post?
There’s a discussion on this very topic here https://www.advrider.com/f/threads/proper-grease-for-inside-master-links.1095651
Hi, yes I did read this , and I think the easiest solution is to buy a spare master link which comes with the small sachet of white grease
