The whole reason that the Oberon slave reduces effort in most fitments is because it produces a slightly longer throw at the lever, (as you know) so it's unusual to read the above. Similarly i remember fitting an Oberon that didn't reduce the effort needed at the handlebars, and this was because the O.E. unit happened to be the same piston diameter.
its butter smooth otherwise, maybe need a decent bit of weather to get a few miles in and tweak it COME ON WEATHER!
The reference to the amount of travel was advised over the phone by Steve, if I remember correctly, who is the MD and most helpful. Such a shame as I would have liked the additional bling. Maybe I will give it another try next year as I now have one of those bleed kits where you suck the fluid out from the bleed nipple rather than force it out from the reservoir. One thing to be aware of is the amount that the clutch pushrod protrudes after you have removed the slave cylinder. Mine was just on the threshold of requiring the spacer that they provide but to no avail.
if hand lever is reaching the handlebars, then as said, it's wrong, – the system either needs an additional bleed or maybe you have an adjustable hand lever?
ok so over a rainy crimbo gave it a proper flush so there were no air bubbles at all (pumped lever 6 times then taped it to grip then undid nipple) and it was absolutely perfect, very easy to use, no clunking, but after about 50 miles seemed sometimes to struggle to find second neutral or first, and then a suddenly all good again, and then suddenly stuck in second at a junction, then all good again, random and a bit annoying i think i will replace all the copper washers, check oil anything else? cheers
