Ridgebacks love the heat from a fire, after a walk mine used to lay so close to the fire you could see the steam coming off his slightly damp head !
All I’ve done today is got up, looked out of the window…. And got back into bed for another half hour
Marshalled what looked like a very successful Reading Toy Run, despite the unpleasant weather something in the order of 1500 riders paraded the 5 or so miles from Reading to Wokingham and entertained a big crowd lining the route. Andy
A nice extended family meal in a country pub yesterday. A very wet dog walk this morning and very little else today .
Just driven back from pissing-down Gower on wet wet wet floods, etc M4 to pissing-down Bristol. Nice long bunkhouse weekend with friends tho'
Heard something fall over in a cupboard so went to investigate it. Picked up the knife block to move it, lost my grip and instinctively grabbed at it; 4 hours in A&E today and a trip to the plastic surgery department tomorrow to see the prognosis on reattaching the severed tendon... This sounds so bloody obvious now, but if you have a knife block with the carbon fibre rods in them, either make sure the blades all face the centre (counterintuitive as it puts the handle the wrong way round) or remove them before you shift the block. You're welcome Now need to change my name to Very Grumpy Non-Golfer
I tested positive for covid on Friday so I gave my seat away, a pretty good game. Nearly back to normal.
I'll know more when I see the plastic surgeons at the hand unit tomorrow. A&E nurse was fairly optimistic about the forefinger & middle finger not being too bad, stitches out in a week and then see where we are. Hit an artery in the ring finger as she found out when she opened the wound to inspect the damage & severed the tendon in the little finger to some extent as I can't close the top joint. Hey ho.
