Help!

  1. Got to get the bike in for a service Friday - was just fitting a new optimate battery tender cable when this happened  Must have been already weakened as it just came away with no pressure when I slid the battery out.
Anyone know where I can get a new cable lug/end at short notice? I finish work tomorrow at 2pm so hopefully can get this sorted before Friday morning and the service.

  2. Halfords? You can buy a whole lead of varying lengths.
DL motorcycles Cocksparrow Lane Cannock may have something.
Do you have a crimping tool to press the end to the cable, at work when fitting the jump start kits they’ve a hefty crimping tool.

  4. Cheers, no I'd need a special crimping tool I'd guess ☹️ spose replacing the cable is next best thing, thing is I've never done it and have no idea how big a job that might be.
I knew I should have waited till after Friday

  5. I’d have waited till after March TBH, brave venturing out this weather if it’s your Sunday best bike. Sons been riding to school everyday, luckily he does flat tracking so aces the back end out style.

  6. Not through choice, it's booked in for a service and brake bleed Friday.

  7. That'd work? Spose I could invest in a cheap solder kit from Halfords?

  8. 25 Watts won't do it, controversial but i would go with 75 Watts upwards particularly in this weather.

  9. I see that you are Staffordshire, it's always the way, if you were nearby I would do it for free.

  11. Can’t the dealer just collect the bike?

  12. It's just a local bike garage. Worse comes to the worse I'll push it down there. Was hoping for a quick fix but looks like not, I'll let the pros deal with it. Deffo going to invest in the wiring upgrade kit though once all this is done.
Appreciate all the suggestions, cheers all

  13. Thanks all, popped into see the lad whose doing the service and he gave me a couple of connectors. Proper butchers job but the bike has power and hasn't caught fire (yet).
Am 100% going to get me the Exact Start upgrade though after all this.
    Appreciate all the help

  14. If you order the wiring kit in the morning tomorrow before say 11am there’s a chance you may get them Saturday AM. From memory the last set of belts I ordered off Stuart came the very next day, my belief is is pops down his local PO at around 1pm to post his orders.
