  1. it was a boat party just up the road, they hold it once a year and a firm favourite with the children. seemed to be twice the number of people this year. Drinks and light food all laid on.
i did cycle there so thought it best belonged on your thread.

  2. Yes I saw your bmx bike parked casually deliberate against the railing near the entrance. :):upyeah:

  3. Walton Bridge at around 8 pm this morning and probably about 3°C. Don't know what came over me, possibly because I've put on weight but around 10 miles part assisted. Can't get the bicycle in as it's behind me.

  6. Your lack of checking predictive is concerning, you’ll not make a full Jedi with such sloppiness. :)

  10. Back to my LBS today, the drive side crank bearing was grumbling, changed the chain and cassette whilst in the workshop. Both had done just over 1600 miles.

Bike has now done over 5,300 miles and it’s ready for a chain ring and the rear mech which I damaged riding in Grovely Woods when a stick jammed it. Parts ordered.

I have now passed lasts years total and have 94.5 miles to go to hit my 2024 target of 3,107 miles (5,000 kms) hoping the parts will be in this week and I can keep riding as I really want to reach the goal before Christmas.

  11. Weather's been garbage up here for a couple of weeks. Commutes and turbo have kept my hours up but as soon as we get some kind of break, I'm out on the peddles!

  13. That's pretty much me, I've dropped at least 20 miles a week off my average because of the weather, daily commute is just over 7 miles, round trip and I struggle to do more than 40 minutes at a time on the rollers.

  14. forgot to turn the machine off again.. Hanger café was closed so I'm going to do my own fry up in a minute. 16 miles non-assisted.

  15. I do an hour on the turbo, mp3 playing in my ears. I get an hour a day commuting and a few sessions on the turbo gets me up to my minimum 8hr weekly.

An hour on a turbo gets you sweating and jelly legged but my head can only cope with 1 hour, indoor is vastly inferior to actually getting out for a peddle. It does the job of keeping me spinning, but that's it, not much fun in it.

I've no interest in investing in zwift, peloton, wattbike or any of the other indoor cycling online systems. I'll pound the turbo and get out when i can.

  17. Well no Sausage, Black Pudding, Baked beans or fried slice, I can only conclude that you are eating a breakfast starter and the main course is being served a little later?:):upyeah:

  18. Not had a bad week out on the peddles, managed to get 126 miles, 11 hours and no turbo. Too sloppy for mtb but my ally ribble has served me well this week, got 30 odd cold miles in this afternoon to finish the week off. If I'm feeling greedy, i might drag a mountain bike out tomorrow and bathe in the slop, water and mud.

  19. 65 miles to go to pass this year’s goal, which is where I failed last year when I got a chest infection. Only 29 miles so far this week and that included today’s ride to the LBS to fit the chain ring and rear mech. Certainly much smoother on the way back.
