Has anyone ever had their rear swing arm painted and managed to get it exactly the same as the standard colour and texture?
Think u would struggle. But i have seen a company called ceracote up north. Ceramic so that may be worth a look.
Thanks Paul. Just been speaking a mate in Italy and he reckons they have to be re anodised to get them perfect… we’ll see.
Just had a good look at their www page, Paul. Might pop over with the arm and ask them. Only an hour away.
Hi Paul. Went with your recommendation and dropped the swingarm off at their spot yesterday. We got a very close colour match and the texture on the swingarm shouldn’t be affected. I’ll post up photos when done. Price wise, it will work out at £180 max depending how much time they need to mask off all the machined areas and there’s a lot!
Thanks for replying bud. Thats great, will be interesting to see how it turns out. Not a bad price as well, especially if it turns out like original and a good option for anyone else wanting to fix up there old swing arms. Check out there facebook page, some nice stuff on there.
Swingarm finished, @Paul Hickman. First photo shows it curing and the other two just how it’s come out. Texture’s there and the colour match is perfect. £165 the final bill which is a bargain.
That looks mint, they have done a great job. Just seen it on facebook as well. Bet your very happy with that.
For anyone a bit further south I’m using Silverstone Cerakote. Engine cases, swing arm, headlight bucket, frame and wheels. They’re friendly and great to deal with. They’ve lots of colours and I think they’ve made a good job of colour matching.
