If you don't carry a pillion or use the side panniers you don't really need the rear pegs and pannier locators which, to me look fragile if the bike ever topples over. EP do a swish exhaust hanger and LH side blanking plate which deals with this situation, not cheap but as usual well engineered. Here are a few images to show how it slims down and tidies up the rear end of the bike..
The hanger looks nice, but in the event of an unfortunate stumble those dog ugly footpegs could save you a lot of money You got crashbars at the front, but not much protecting the rear end.... just saying.... They're not the lightest of bikes to keep upright if ya loose your footing. Only takes one drop...
I usually remove the rear pegs, but I also usually drop the bike. a lot. So, left them on. they're not a sexy looking thing anyway.
I am to be fair, but they're all ugly really. We certainly get over obsessed and include myself in that category.
I’m guessing you’re doing the same as me and waiting for the RS parts fiche to drop and seeing how much the tail section costs.
Apparently it won't fit from what i read on the FB forum the other day. Subframe is different. Which doesn't add up when you put the bikes side by side on the configurator. They look identical but maybe its the lack of grab handles and rack that is different.
The material of the subframe is different, but as the RS takes the same panniers as the regular V4S etc, I'd imagine they are the same shape/ dimensions.
