  1. Hi Chrisw!, i'm new here and I think my questions are maybe silly, but im in desperate need of information about it, I've owned a 999 2005 for about 2 yrs now and for 1 of those i've been sufering a intermitent issue with what i think is the CDI (EFI 10.2) ive swapped the coils and it came with the same error code, so anyway I bought this new CDI and im trying to connect it to the bike with the "fiat lancia adapter" my silly question 1 is, where does the red fly lead go? when you say K line Im not sure what you mean... sorry for my ignorance about it, and is just that my guts tells me to plug it to the +ve side of the battery, and cant find a piece of information that helps me know this. now regarding the tuneecu, can I conect the lead cable USB directly to the phone? like with a ogt adapter? being that it no longers support windows, I need to plug it directly to use TuneEcu right?... again sorry for my ignorance.

  2. Hi Chris, so with the 2 fly leads cable, should i conect the red to the +ve and black to the -ve of the battery?

  3. I recommend that the red fly lead is connected to +12v on the battery and the black fly lead to a good earth on the frame or engine. By doing that you will never invert polarity to the ECU and damage it.

The diagnostic connector on the bike has two wires into it. It is a 3 way Superseal connector. What would be the centre of the 3 way connector is the earth -ve, the outer wire is the K-Line. The K-Line carries the diagnostic data.

  4. you're a life saver Chris thank you!
