  3. I know next to nothing about most sports sadly, but some interesting names up there in a mix of sports.

Between Foggy and Rossi in bike world
Foggy as it was the time I was just growing up and watching bikes and seeing him on that Ducati in the flesh for the first time was one of life's highlights

Rossi will always be up there for raising the bar, the once in a generation talent

Phil Taylor - just the dominance in his era, one of a kind at the time who also raise the bar for his sport at the time

  4. Ben Ainslie
    Tony Rutter
    Shirley Crabtree

  5. Sebastian Coe
    Valentino Rossi
    Joey Dunlop

  6. Hailwood
    Hailwood
    Hailwood

OK ..... I'll try to stick to the question , unlike some bird I could mention ( but won't :p )

    Ali
"Ooh Aah" Cantona ..... for taking superb footwork skills to a higher level ! .... :D

  7. Surprised to see Rossi featuring in so many lists.

In terms of what he did for the sport, he’s unmatched. In terms of outright riding talent, I’d place Spencer, Stoner and Marquez ahead of him.

All four of them, at their peak, on the same track, I’m saying he’d finish 4th.

ETA: I’m only talking about riders I’ve seen in the skin.

  8. Max Biaggi
    Scott Russell
    Marvin Hagler

  9. Damn right, Phil(thy animal) was an awesome drummer, along with fast Eddie Clarke and Lemmy they pretty much invented heavy metal ;-)
2 wheels sporting hero, it's got to be Joey Dunlop
4 wheels sporting hero, Colin McRae

Doesn't it make you feel old when they're all dead...

  17. Valentino Rossi.

Mohammed Ali, as much for having the courage of his convictions and refusing to compromise on his principles, as for his boxing talent.

Lionel Messi. Tbh, I’m not really a massive football follower but my youngest son is, so I see lots of it. I saw Messi play in the Finalissima at Wembley a couple of years ago and was absolutely awe struck as the telly doesn’t do his talent justice.

Honourable mentions: Manny Pacquiao. Ian Botham. Ben Stokes. My sons (lol).
