1299 Carbon Parts Refurbished

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by aviating cud, Dec 23, 2023.

  1. The previous owners had polished some of the carbon on my Panigale R and even rattle can gloss lacquered the exhaust shroud which made me very unhappy . So, I stripped all of the original lacquer off the carbon parts, rubbed them down to a smooth finish then found some 2k Matt lacquer. There was some damage to the front mudguard, probably caused by a disc lock and some gouges in the clutch cover which I repaired with some clear araldite. I painted the carbon parts yesterday and I think the results are excellent. So much so that I had to paint the chain shark tooth guard and shock protector as they looked crap next to the newly painted parts.
