V4 Goodbye Hello

  1. Yesterday I said bye with a heavy heart to my scram 1200xe, but was replaced with a Rally.
Had time for a hour ride, balance, sharp, smooth, surprised that I find it easy to move. Can’t wait get the running in done.

  2. From something that does the job to something that does the job with 'Va Va Voom!' and brings a big smile!

  3. Can’t beat getting a new bike this close to Christmas.

    Think I’m getting socks.

  4. If it’s any consolation I didn’t get socks.
    Happy Xmas everyone

  5. I didn’t get socks. Wouldn’t have minded a couple of pairs though.

    Love my XE too!

  6. I got socks.

    And undercrackers.

In other news, I also got enough chocolate to sink a ship. So not all bad.

  12. Can anyone help with first issue, connected phone and AirPods to bike but then volume at max is just about detectable, thanks

  13. Not using a headset connected to bike?

I found it’s ok using the Ducati connect app but you must have your phone set to being on permanently.

It might be better to just connect your AirPods to the phone directly and skip the connection to the bike?

  14. You may have to turn the volume up to full on your phone first. And then control the volume on the bike. It's the same when you pair directly with a headset, you have to turn the volume up to full in the app and then control the volume you hear on the headset. Otherwise max is only the maximum set on the phone.

    Hope that makes sense.

  15. Can you still control music through the dash that way?
I couldn’t on my xe. Not had time to have a proper play about yet but don’t like the way Ducati connects blacks out your phone when connected.
if no joy with AirPods is there any recommendations for headset for music/calls?

  16. Thanks, will give it a go

  17. As I mentioned you have to have the Ducati connect app active and have the phone set to ‘on’ all the time

  18. Tried it today but no luck. Disconnected AirPods from the bike that works fine but you can then only control music through connect which seems a bit of a faff rather than the music option on main dash.

Second issue I’ve had is that I can’t unlock Sygic, click it on the dash it then opens the app on phone but immediately goes back to the black Ducati connect screen. I have all settings on my phone turned on.

I went over 6500 rpm unintentionally and was expecting the rev counter to turn yellow as per manual but that didn’t happen.

Finally i find its very easy to hit 75mph and think your doing 50, it really is so smooth.

  19. My Panigale V4 lit up the yellow limiter light approaching max run-in revs but like your Rally, my V4 Pikes Peak doesn’t. Not sure why that should be. Pretty sure the recommended max revs during running in on the Grandturismo V4 is 7000rpm so I wouldn’t worry about hitting 6500rpm, in fact I think it should be mandatory :D Andy
