What Are You Watching......?

  1. Poor Things at the cinema this weekend. Quite bizarre, steampukish with great sets, costumes and plot. Visually pretty stunning IMHO. Great performances by Emma Stone and Willem Dafoe, supported by Mark Ruffalo and Ramy Youssef. Not for everyone but I'll be buying it on BlueRay when it comes to that format as a long term keeper, something that I rarely do since streaming became an option.

  2. For All Mankind (4 x series/seasons).
The premise is that the the US did not get to the moon first and the space race continued into the solar system.
    Worth a watch.

  3. Anyone here watched Silent Witness? heard good things so i looked it up in BBC iPlayer and it started in 96 lol, looks very dated and filmed in 4:3 ratio

  4. Probably seen all of them. The cast changes fairly regularly which keeps things a bit fresh & great attention to detail. It's a job I could never do but which I find fascinating. That & Waking the Dead are two of our favourite BBC dramas.

  5. I liked waking the dead, but the central character just got too annoyed with everything towards the end, wasn’t it Trevor Eve and didn’t he do Shoestring?

  6. Florida Man on Netflix. One in, not convinced yet…

  7. A new series of True Detective starts tonight apparently
Going to finish off Fargo before embracing this one.

  10. What channel is that on? Watched seasons 1-3 but think I may have lost interest half way through 3?

  11. True Detective: Night Country will premiere its first of six episodes on Sunday (14 January) at 9pm ET/PT on Max in the US, followed by new episodes each week. UK viewers will be able to watch episodes on Sky Atlantic/NOW the following Mondays.

  12. Oh yeah it’s an HBO isn’t it, so yeah it’ll be on Atlantic, ditched SKY a while back now (probably when I watched season 3) oh well.

On a lighter note I stumbled across S5 of Fargo is on Amazon Prime, so will be binging that one. So much to watch at the moment :confounded:

  14. Nicole Kidman was in Nine Perfect Strangers

Nine people from different walks of life congregate at a wellness retreat to gain a respite from their lives. However, the director may be
    hiding more secrets than anticipated.
If you haven’t already been there.

  15. Looking good....Touch of 'The Thing' about it.

  16. Yes it was, and yes he was Shoestring.

  17. Although it is on Atlantic, Virgin Media customers can get this on the Sky Showcase channel.

  18. Finders Keepers
    9pm, Channel 5
A promising cast – James Buckley, Fay Ripley and Neil Morrissey – lead this metal detectorist drama. When Martin (Morrissey) and his soon-to-be son-in-law Ashley (Buckley) find some Saxon treasure, they finally begin to bond ahead of the wedding – but then one of them wants to legally declare it, while the other makes a case for keeping the spoils for themselves.

  19. After the Flood
    9pm, ITV1
With a supporting cast crackling with oddball energy, this twisty thriller – set in a northern town devastated by flooding – is more Brassic than Broadchurch. But there is still a murder to be solved and, after secretly going rogue with DNA testing in the opener, pregnant PC Jo Marshall (Sophie Rundle) is striving to set things right.
    Started this last night
