  2. Took the tank off* and removed the vertical cylinder belt cover on the 1098R.
This belt change is taking forever!

*it's been a while since I removed the tank and couldn't for the life of me get the quick release fuel couplings off. Spent half an hour pinching and squeezing them and generally fucking about.. The I realised I was pinching the wrong parts together.! Came off a treat as soon as I realised. What a twit.

  3. Looked at them, and decided its far too cold to ride, and the roads are covered in shite.

  7. Did the pre mot checks on my Honda today and of course smoke started coming out of the headlight :joy: it’s a big single so the vibration had rubbed through a wire for the side light and was shorting, all sorted now and ready for tomorrows mot.
I then decided to do a quick oil and filter on the new bike, weird inner sump bolt that you access through the main sump bolt hole. Then on to the filter…… why do people insist on cranking up oil filters with a rachet! Two hours later and with it totally destroyed I ended up having to chisel off the bloody thing. Fitted new one hand tight.

  8. Got my neighbour to help me turn it round in the garage so the exhaust was facing out of the doors & ran it up to temperature. It doesn't come much smaller.

  17. Found most of the lost horses that disappeared when changing exhausts. Think the pipe design is better on the front outlet exhausts on an 1199 rather than the rear ones. Still can't get rid of that mid range dip though

  20. Finally pressed the button and placed an order to replace the Speedline Magnesiun wheels on my 1979 900SS Bevel after checking I still had enough body parts left to pay for the wire wheel replacements!
