  1. how is that ever worth 9K?..
as said, aftermarket lacquer everywhere, possibly including the exhaust!

hand-sanded front discs also look dodgy - heavy uneven surface/corrosion* unless deceptive picture.

    *probably "caliper park" corrosion.

  2. I have seen this dealers stock on ebay periodically. Invariably Japanese imports and often rough as a badger's arse, looking like they have been parked outside on the seafront for years. I'm guessing they may have decided to tart this one up thinking someone will pay big money.
    Maybe they will.......

  3. It's very shiny... Like the Chinese I've just eaten.... Maybe both smothered in MSG?

  4. Good morning,

Not on eBay, but for sale online (Le Bon Coin) by Ducati Rouen: Chaz Davies WSBK2020 official race bike. Genuine. Beautiful, exclusive, but only for the richest collectors… :D

  5. I'm guessing but if someone's after one and there's little stock available and people don't know what there're looking at then maybe a sale will happen for the dealer.
I do find it very strange based on my experience over the decades that folk perfer dealers as opposed to me a private seller.

  6. The benefits of dealers, possible finance options, and a warranty

Benefits of private sales, cheaper than dealers

Some people, it's about the warranty, others, it's about the price

  7. Unless you read the small print most dealers will wriggle out of the warranty, plus it's only what 3 months on a secondhand motorcycle which'll fly.

  8. And anyone can buy a warranty

  9. In my experience paying for a warranty from an independant company for a landrover, they are not really worth the paper they are written on.
We had three or four issues on a relatively low mileage, four year old vehicle. Everyone they wriggled out of, claiming they were wear and tear and we had to fix them at our own expense.
Maybe if your engine randomly threw a rod through the crankcase they may pay up, but it seemed very little else would be covered.

  10. Well I've decent experiences with 3rd party warranty providers on 2nd hand Porsche in the past and I suppose any car/bike you buy outside official franchise network will be a 3rd party one. But like everything always good and bad stories to be found

  11. Is your comment about this race bike?

If so, there’s only one of these, and I guess only an official dealer would be able to buy it from Paolo Chiabatti at Ducati Corse?

If not, then carry on. :D

  12. I may well be wrong, and overly cynical about these ex WSB bikes that are popping up for sale (Rinaldi’s for sale in Uk currently) but I would question just how much of that bike is the same, or even of the same spec as when it last crossed the finish line on it’s last WSB race.

  13. Nope it was based on the 900 superlight that's advertised by a dealer.
