Well done. The quality of these cars is way beyond anything I expected but remember that they were sold for £19,000 back in 2001 which is £ 42,482 in todays money! I'm grateful to whoever stumped up to have mine built...
Thanks, I’m going to be in this car pretty deep by the time I get it how I want it. What I don’t want to do is scrape through an MOT and have something that drives crap because all the bushes are shot etc. I’ve got my eye on a set of suspension arms with updated bushes in already and will put decent ball joints be top mounts in, then in the rear I’ll see what’s what! I’m knackered tonight! Amazing how much it takes it out of you when you are doing stuff you haven’t done that’s out of the comfort zone!
The grill actually moves up and down to reveal the headlights lol (5:08 in this vid) Can This Vintage Mini Cooper Transform Into An Epic Muscle Car? Looks are a bit individual. Personally I really don’t like it. I like the black and gold on a 1275GT but that’s horrid imho. Each to his own.
I didn’t learn to drive a car until I was over40 and just remember all my mates turning 17 buying a mini and flying me about everywhere in one (literally flying sometimes ) . Looks equally if not a lot more fun to hoon about in, I wouldn’t buy one myself - I think they sold it for about 40 grand lol.
In case anyone wants a set of the best handling (ie lightest, right sized) wheels for the R53, I’m selling mine - with actual good tyres on them rather than ditchfinders! https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/17619683...YBPrdGGQ4i&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
Nice and a good price too. But I have the best looking wheels for mine to go on after the winter, and as its a Dooper the weight isn't a big deal.
