best upgrade u can buy and holds its value (if you ever sell bike, u can still get a good 6-800 quid if u sell it separately and put std back on bike) - at least that's what I told the wife... bugs
I was looking at either the Termi or the Quat-D. I thought the QD was better looking but liked the idea that the Termi came with the ECU that means, in theory, I won't then also need to spend £500 having it re-mapped to run nicely. Then I enquired about the price of the QD - recent price rise makes it £1,500 - plus VAT - so £1,800!!! So, I went with the Termi!
What about the Exhaust Valve (EXVL) routine on start up does the full Termi still have that valve check or is it done away with?
I believe that the new ECU no longer checks for it. The pipe doesn't have the exhaust valve AFAIK. I think it still does have the O2 sensors and checks those, but not the EXVL.
I fitted it myself over two weekends at the oval center in London (sort of ride in and use their facilities with trained mechanics at hand but you do it yourself with your ipad instructions). I ain't mechanically minded...took about 8-15 hrs, was very proud to do it all and get to know the bike better...actually a good bike to work on - compared to the last time I did something on my 350lc u will need to make sure you take out all the 1 old exhaust and 2 take out the valve and 3 replace the air filter 4 and ecu. take your time, especially around the front exhaust port near the front wheel - the three exhaust screws on the front cylinder can be a real pain and you may want to replace them - Care! , you will need to remove that piece of exhaust, but not the rear one as the new termi fits onto the rear. Also move the little hole-blocker from the old front exhaust header. the exhaust valve is a bit fiddly and you may have to loose and hinge up the rear seat - its 2 bolts and easy to do but care about the abs lines under the seat! The ecu needs complete panel removal - no matter what people say about 'sqqueeezing' it in without panel removal - just do it, it saves time in the long run and stops 'accidents'. Replacing the air filter is a bit weird as it doesn't really fit properly - you will see...don't forget the air temp sensor plug bugs
