Salvage 2021 Rve

Discussion in 'Hypermotard' started by mgrover, Feb 8, 2024.

  1. So bought this lovely bit of kit. Always fancied a hypermotard but was always too short for em.

    https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/305378611133

Price seemed decent enough. Few bits that need sorting but in grand scheme will be alright.

I was wondering if theres anything in particular I should deal with first?

I mean am thinking new clutch cover and a standard all the fluids service and ofc replace most the broken bits.

Ideally will turn the bike either ducati red or some kinda stealth build would be cool, gotta replace that right fairing ofc. Not a big fan of the RVE livery personally.

Also is there anyway I can scan codes and do diag? I used TuneECU for my ST4S, so wondering if can do similar here?

Finally anyone ever got one of these onto an Abba Skylift? I couldn't seem to find the adapter for it online?

If anyones got any spare parts that might be applicable give me a shout.

Oh also does anyone know how backwards compatibility works out, ie how far back fairings would go to other versions?

    Cheers
    M

  2. Have mine on a sky lift.
Have aftermarket rearsets and had to remove the foot pegs because they are in a fixed position.
On oem I think you have to fixed them back using cable ties.
Never used it with the original pegs.
    What parts are you after?

  3. do you remember which fitting you needed for the swingarm pivot?

most likely fairings atm. they are the big issue there.
I am waiting for the bike to get here so I can assess exactly whats what.

theres a top picture of the handlebar looking funky. forks don't look bent, neither does the top yolk or handlebar.
I am guessing the screw going into the mount is bent which is best case scenario imo.

I am also most likely gonna knab i think your decat pipe when i get a chance.

  4. So have you grown? Or is this a special lower one?

  5. Neither just yoloing it. This is already a cat n so if I drop it no biggie

Shame guess... Just saw link that's fucking expensive

  6. Like you I think they're great, but I've had a tall off roader before (Honda NX650) and whilst it was fun, I have no desire to repeat the experience.

  7. From what I can tell I'll be on tip toes.

Also briefly owned a ktm 990 and that was okay

  8. Another inch taller than the KTM, at 35''. Too much for me!

  9. I mean it could be completely miserable but won't know till I try and it's always been a dream bike so gotta have a go

  10. I agree wholeheartedly!

  11. I had mine on a Skylift. MelcoDiag sorted my service light. It’s a different colour scheme than those I’ve seen.

  13. Oooo I like that.

  14. Is there not a lowered seat as KTM do. -20mm for their 790/890/990 range? Or maybe a custom seat…

  15. probs is but i remember i had to buy an oem seat that wasnt lowered cause it was another salvage bike haha.

  16. I meant for your current project

  17. ohh i see, i think ive seen one knocking about tbh. but for now ill wait for the bike to turn up, most likely not this sunday but one after, and then see if its a major problem.

  18. Same decat as Euro 5,just a different way of fixing to the downplpes..
Just need someone to tig weld a couple of tabs on the downpipes and you can then use springs.
Regarding the sky lift, have a bar through the rear wheel to keep the bike horizontal.
